The Inside Scoop on Discards

If you’ve done card magic for more than a few weeks, you’ve heard “wow, you must go through a lot of cards?!” Well now you have the answer with Discards

Here’s what happens:

You introduce your deck of “discards”. An entire deck made up of signed, torn, burned, mis-made and generally ruined cards from multiple different decks. Even the box itself is a “discard” with a large tear down the front.

You display the deck explaining that each and every card has been the victim of a card trick. However, all is not lost. They can be restored!

With a little rub you visually vanish the signature from one card. Then, you instantly vanish the signatures from each and every card, restoring the faces to new. But we still have a mishmash of random, destroyed card backs to deal with. Again, with a little rub the entire deck is visually restored to new. 

But we’re not finished yet. “What about the box?” I hear you cry. A simple rub across the massive tear and the box is instantly restored and can be immediately handed out for examination. This gives the perfect motivation to pop the discards deck away and take out another deck of red bikes. A deck switch with level 1000 misdirection.
